Thank you for visiting DGT during ITU Telecom World 2011 in Geneva!

On 27 October in Geneva, ITU Telecom World 2011 closed its doors. It was one of the biggest events gathering Heads of State, Heads of Government, leaders of international organizations, telecommunication and new technologies industry from around the world. DGT was one of the participants of the Polish Pavilion organised by Ministry of Infrastructure in cooperation with the leading companies from the telecommunication/ICT sector in Poland. The Polish Pavilion was visited by numerous guests, including dr Hamadoun I. Toure – Secretary General of ITU, Francois Rancy – Director of ITU-R, Brahima Sanou – Director of ITU-D, Jasna Matic – State Secretary of Digital Agenda, Suvi Linden – member of Broadband Commission, Cezary Grabarczyk – Minister of Infrastructure. Over 6,500 participants including 332 global leaders (Heads of State and Government, Ministers, city mayors, CEOs form major ICT companies), 251 speakers from 64 countries, 237 companies from 41 countries, 324 accredited media took part in the event. Hundreds of thousands of participants from around the world were interacting in real-time via webcasts and twitter streams. DGT participation in this event was the opportunity to present the company’s contribution to development of telecommunications in Poland and to promote the DGT latest solutions for operators (including CDMA2000/EVDO, UMTS/HSPA, VDSL2 technologies).

The DGT company will be exhibiting during ITU Telecom World 2011, which will be taking place in Geneva on 24th – 27th October 2011. DGT together with other companies and telecommunication operators will be promoting Polish technical achievements within the Polish National Pavilion. ITU Telecom World 2011 is a unique gathering of leading industry players, government heads, digital innovators and technological talents – focused together on applying the power of connected technology to real-world issues. DGT participation in this event is the opportunity to present the company’s contribution to development of telecommunications in Poland and to promote the DGT latest solutions for operators (including CDMA2000/EVDO, UMTS/HSPA, VDSL2 technologies). Visiting DGT

"DGT - people, innovations and development plans. Company relations: science – business – local government" – it was the main topic of the visit, which took place on 18th  July 2011 in Straszyn. We were visited by: Roman Zaborowski – the Pomeranian Voivod, Ryszard Świlski - Board member of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Grzegorz Mocarski - Deputy Director of the Economic Development in Marshal's Office, Marek Biernacki and Paweł Orłowski - Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland.

Our guests listened to the corporate presentation, led by Mr Mirosław Zbrzeźniak, Director of Implementation Office. DGT President, Mr Andrzej Adler gave a speech about development plans, policy of innovations, cooperation and creative potential of Polish designers. Participants were acquainted with the plans of the company's cooperation with Technical University of Gdansk, Naval Academy in Gdynia and Gdansk University. They expressed interest in research and development project implemented within the tenth competition of the National Research and Development Centre in collaboration with Pomeranian universities.

During the visit, guests had the opportunity to closely look at the work of engineers from the Office of Construction and learned about the process of production using modern surface assembly line.

Ultra-fast Internet with the DGT RGW VDSL2 G access router

On 1.06.2011 Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. has launched a new service: Neostrada Fiber. Internet access is offered in two options, using VDSL technology: 40 Mb/s or 80 Mb/s. Access terminal is installed at the customer, who can choose between two products. One of them is the DGT RGW VDSL2 G router.

Currently, Neostrada Fiber is available for residents of Warsaw (Saska Kępa and Służewiec, Wrocław, Rzeszów, Leszno, Oborniki Śląskie, Brwinów (near Warsaw) and Zielonki (near Kraków). 0.5 million households have been covered by the new service. Next villages will join Neostrada Fiber service in autumn. Until then, we implement new version of our product: DGT RGW VDSL2 FG4 - router with extended functionality.

DGT routers are designed and manufactured at our headquarter in Straszyn. They have been tested on commercial pilot principles since December 2010. They have achieved very good results.

9th International Exhibition of Fire and Rescue Techniques EDURA 2011 has just ended. We are pleased to inform that the DGT 5810-10 dispatcher console received an award in competition for the best exhibited products intended for use in fire protection and rescue.

On 19.05.2011 a formal awards ceremony for businesses selected from a ranking of: "List of 500 most innovative companies in Poland" took place in the Staszic Palace in Warsaw. DGT is one of the 50 winners awarded with a Certificate of Innovation.

The sixth edition of the ranking of the 500 most innovative companies in Poland took place this year. The ranking was published by the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the scientific network MSN. Companies were rated in terms of: market and process innovation, expenditures on innovation, patents and European contracts in 2009. Compared to the previous year we recorded a jump of 24 places!

The Bronze Star Police Award for DGT 5810-10 dispatch terminal

We are pleased to inform that DGT 5810-10 dispatch terminal with touch-screen technology has just earned the Bronze Star Police Award in a STATE-OF-THE-ART promotion program and in its „Gold Star Police Award” competition. The award has been granted during the EUROPOLTECH 2011 fair. The awarded products are highly useful to the police and the country's security authorities leveraging innovative technical solutions and offering unique application features. The award is granted by the Competition Committee - EUROPOLTECH's Program Board which includes police deputies and the country's security deputies.

DGT launches e-Szczytno project

On 02.03.2011 DGT signed a contract with the county town Szczytno for carrying out the "e-Szczytno – building wireless IT network" project. The project refers to building a broadband network which uses wireless and fiber optic technology connecting 33 town and county units in Szczytno. Moreover, the units connected in the IP network will be equipped with VoIP telephony along with Public Internet access hot spots. The program also expects the implementation of 10 mobile information presentation stations - infokiosks (PIAP) The project is worth 4,1 million PLN, out of which 3,5 million PLN will be received from the Regional Operational Program Warmia and Mazury. The project is to be completed till the end of October 2011.

DGT-MCS communication system in Lithuania

At the turn of 2010/2011 DGT delivered and launched a communication system for mobile Lithuanian Ministry of the Interior and the Administration Crisis Management Centre. What's important, the project was co-sponsored by the European Union. DGT delivered two DGT-MCS systems with touch consoles mounted on two vehicles (mobile command stations). Apart from communication systems, the command vehicles are equipped with area visualization system supporting video recording features.

The Malopolska's rescue workers chose DGT–MCS

In November 2010 a tender for dispatch communication integration for all rescue service units in Malopolska voivodship was settled. The tender entitled „Equipment and software delivery for rescue services” was organized by the Marshal Office of Malopolska. It was part of a project entitled „Building integrated computer systems for satellite management and monitoring in Malopolska”. DGT won it together with Wasko S.A. Company. 21 rescue service units will be connected with DGT-MCS radio and telephone communication system and SWD Wasko application.
